If you have browsed many websites, you have probably encountered some error message every now and then. An error may occur if the server can't process a request (Error 400), if you need to log in so as to see some content and you have not done so (Error 401), if you are not able to access some page (Error 403) or if a link leads to a file that is not on the web server (Error 404). Receiving such messages can often be irritating as the pages have absolutely nothing in common with the actual website. That’s why some hosting companies permit you to apply your own error pages that will match the design of your own website and which may have any content which you'd like - info why the error has occurred, a suggestion what you can do or even some funny remark. This type of function will help you keep the visitor on the site irrespective of the error or the reason for it.

Custom Error Pages in Website Hosting

The personalized error pages function is provided with each website hosting plan which we offer and you will be able to replace all of the generic pages with your own with no more than a couple of mouse clicks from your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. You will have to produce the actual files and to upload them to your account, and then to set them for a particular domain or subdomain via the Hosted Domains section of the Hepsia CP. You could do this for every Internet site hosted inside the account individually, so that every set of custom pages will have identical layout as the website it is part of. If required, you could always return back to a default page from our system or to the default Apache server page. A different way to set custom error pages is to create an .htaccess file in the domain/subdomain root folder and to include a few lines in it. Custom Error Pages in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you host your web sites in a semi-dedicated server account with us, you'll be able to set personalized error pages for each of them effortlessly via our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel. With a few mouse clicks in the Hosted Domains section, you'll be able to change the default setting from a system page to a personalized one for any of the four error types. All you should do is provide a link to every file you have uploaded before that and then save the change. If necessary, you will be able to revert this modification at any time and in exactly the same way. If you wish, you could use an .htaccess file as well. It should be created/uploaded within the domain or subdomain folder associated with the website whose error pages you want to change and the content for this type of file can be found in our Help article about this matter.
